Since the early age of nine and spending summers at our family cabin on Rainy Lake I have been captivated by fishing and water.  I fished nearly everything Rainy had to offer in those years until at the age of fourteen I caught my first musky.  Musky Fever took a strong hold for many years until in 1997 I graduated from college as a Special Education Teacher, acquired my Coast Guard license, began guiding for Rainy Lake House Boats with Billy Dougherty, and got married (a big year for me).  In the years since I have honed my multi-species fishing skills under the tutelage of Billy Dougherty, developed a passion for guiding, and today conduct guided fishing trips from many area resorts.  In the winter months I run a work experience program for special needs students at our local high school.   My wife and I and our two children now spend much of our own summers at our cabin on Rainy Lake.
